Mélia from Abitibi-Témiscamingue, Québec

Thank you to the Air Canada Foundation, which, through the Hospital Transportation Program, for over two years, has allowed us to traverse the 500 km connecting Abitibi-Témiscamingue to Montreal seamlessly.

For eight-year-old Mélia, who was diagnosed with leukemia in March 2017, the Cancer Centre is a second home. From the outset, Mélia had to go to the CHU Sainte‑Justine every nine weeks. Today, she is already doing much better and visits are a bit further apart. Because we live in Abitibi-Témiscamingue, travelling to Sainte‑Justine can become a major headache considering the eight‑hour drive required to get there. Air Canada’s generosity through the Aeroplan Program makes our lives a lot easier. We sincerely hope that this program will be around for a long time.

Thank you wholeheartedly to Air Canada Foundation for ensuring that distance is not an obstacle to the healing and well-being of our daughter!
