We are VERY excited to be able to help SO many remote First Nations communities in Northern Canada this year. We are heading to Big Trout Lake, in Northern Ontario, Tsay Keh Dene, Kwadacha and Fort St. James in Northeastern BC, and Dease Lake, Iskut and Telegraph Creek in Northwestern BC this year!
Each of these First Nations communities is working hard toward our arrival. Our volunteer veterinary teams will be providiing spay/neuter and vaccination services to the dogs and cats in the community at no cost. The issues of overpopulation are common to each of these remote communities with little or no access to veterinary care. Overpopulation quickly becomes an issue of animal welfare. There is just not enough food or shelter for all the animals and many become strays that struggle for survival.
Our Aeroplan donated miles help our teams get to where they need to be to help these animals and communities in need.
We fundraise to be able to purchase medical and surgical and humane education supplies. Our team members take their vacation time and donate their services. However, without our Aeroplan miles, donated by generous people who want to contribute to this cause, many of these projects would not be a reality.
Please donate your miles to help animals that cannot access the basic care they need to reduce the population growth so they are able to live longer, healthier lives.
