Rugby Canada Women's Teams Finish Strong in 7s & 15s Rugby World Cups
Silver medal finishes show great promise going into Rio2016

The profile of rugby in Canada, and especially women's rugby, has taken a tremendous leap forward thanks to the success of our women's 15s team performance in this year’s Women's Rugby World Cup in France.

Canada played some great rugby and powered through to the Finals where they finished a strong second behind England to take home the silver.  With their games aired live on TSN in Canada and the full series being live streamed around the world, women's rugby has created a new buzz with rugby fans and curious onlookers.

A silver medal finish in the 7s Women's Rugby World Cup in 2013 bodes well for our women's team chances to qualify for the 2016 Summer Olympic Games in Rio.

This is an amazing accomplishment as our women's team members operate on a pay to play model where they have to pay some costs out of pocket to go on tour with the team.  Many have jobs outside of the time they spend representing Canada on the world stage to help cover the expenses they incur to play on our national team.  Having Aeroplan Miles available to them is a valuable tool in their success.

Rugby Canada would like to thank all of our past supporters who have donated Aeroplan Miles and look forward to our annual campaign that will run in December 2014 to help generate more Miles to support our teams going into a busy 2015 season.
