War Child held a summit in Kampala
for some, it was the first face-to-face meeting with their counterpart

In June 2013, War Child held a summit in Kampala, Uganda for field staff to increase their skills related to child protection, finance procedures, and to participate in strategic planning for the organization. This tremendously valuable gathering could not have been made possible without the support of Aeroplan’s Beyond Miles program, and the many Canadians that have donated Aeroplan Miles to support War Child’s work.

The enthusiasm of the group was wonderful. For some of the staff, it was their first time leaving their home country. For others, it was the first face-to-face meeting with their counterpart in a different country program.

Ultimately, this summit will benefit the children in the areas War Child and its partners are working by strengthening the staff’s ability to deliver the services in the most effective and efficient means possible.
