On June 24, 2026, two major earthquakes struck Venezuela in rapid succession, causing widespread destruction and leaving thousands of children and families in urgent need of assistance.

More than 16 million people were in the affected area when the earthquakes hit. Buildings have collapsed, power outages have disrupted communities, hospitals and essential services are overwhelmed, and a state of emergency has been declared.

Even before the earthquakes,almost8 million people in Venezuela were already in need of humanitarian assistance. As search and rescue efforts continue and the full scale of the damage becomes clear, the number of people requiring support is expected to rise.

Our member agencies are already responding. They are on the ground, working with local partners to provide immediate life-saving aid.
