On Christmas Eve, a Burundian father reunited with his daughter after 2 years and 5 months

"My name is Aimé, and I am a refugee from Burundi, living in Belgium. 2 years and 5 months ago, I had to leave my wife and 3 children and flee my country. This Christmas Eve, I saw my now 16 year old daughter again after 2 years and 5 months.

Normally, in my country, men don't often show their emotions. But I have to tell you, when I saw my daughter, I was overwhelmed by emotions.

I am so incredibly happy and thankful for the help of Miles4Migrants in bringing my daughter to Belgium. My wife and my other 2 children are still waiting for their visa in Burundi. When my whole family will be here, in safety, it will be a dream come true. But for now, having my daughter Christi with me, is the best Christmas gift I could get.

Thank you so much for your help."
